Shifting Gears/Gifting Gear

The Inspiration

It all started with this 20" red bike.

One of our neighbors "J" got a new 24" bike.
"J" gave his 20" bike to our son "M", but it was too big for him.
"M" gave that 20" bike to our neighbor "N" who gave his 16" bike to "M."
Then "M" gave his 12" bike to another neighbor "B."

That 1 new bike of "J's" provided 'new' right-size bikes to 4 kids on our street.

We thought, "This should be a thing!"

As plans started to form, we expanded the idea to all the sporting gear that kids grow out of,
either from actual growth or a change of interest.

It was really important to us that all this was a free event, given it's a win/win situation.  This process clears outgrown gear from garage "A"  where it is collecting dust and delivers it into the loving hands of family "B" who is excited to use it!

Oh, and it keeps it out of the landfill, too.

At our first event in the spring of 2022, "N" donated that little red bike that started it all and it is now living a useful life in yet another loving new home!
